Two Possible Outcomes of Faith

Coming to the end of the “Faith Chapter” of the Bible, Hebrews 11, we close out the chapter on an interesting note. The writer of Hebrews informs us that faith can lead us to two very different outcomes. What we are encouraged to remember though is no matter the outcome, the heart of God is always the same towards us. Join us as we focus on our value to God no matter what our circumstances of life might be.

Run to Win

Moving into the final chapters of the book of Hebrews, we come what we might call the practical application of the letter. In heaven there is waiting for us both eternal life and rewards. Eternal life is a gift, based entirely on the faithfulness of Christ. Rewards are the results of our faithfulness in running the race. Join us as we begin chapter 12, to discover what we must do in order to win the race that is set before us.

Faith and the End of Life

Navigating our way through the book of Hebrews we come to chapter 11 verse 20, where there’s a subtle shift in context. Up to this point we’ve seen how faith impacts us in our daily life and the struggles that life brings with it. But now we see how faith impacts a person at the end of their life. What we will learn is faith can cause us to finish well. Join us as we look at faith operating at the end of our lives.

Commands and Promises

God has given both commands and promises in His Word. It’s not unusual for the follower of Christ to find themselves in a situation where the direction God seems to be leading them is away from what He has promised them. What do we do when the command seems contrary to the promise? Join us in our verse by verse study in Hebrews 11, as we take our final look at the faith of Abraham.

When Life Doesn’t Match the Promises of God

For the Christian there can be times when our life’s circumstances seem to contradict what God has promised the Christian. What are we to make of this? Does God no longer love us? Are we no longer His child? Join us in Hebrews chapter eleven as we continue to look at the faith of those who believed God, even in the most confusing of circumstances.

Responding to the Call of God

Once a person has been a Christian for a period of time it’s not unusual to develop a sense that God is leading them to say or do something, or to go somewhere. We find ourselves in chapter 11 of Hebrews looking at Abraham and how this man of faith responded to the call of God. Join us as we look at how faith responds to the call of God.

Faith for the Storm

As we continue to look at Hebrews chapter 11, we come to the story of Noah. The lesson that we are taught, is you survive a storm by being prepared for it’s arrival. Join us as we glean from Noah’s life how to prepare for the coming storms that we will face in life.

The Church and Culture – Clash of Values

Hebrews chapter 11 gives us a list of those who held true to their commitment to God in the face of opposition from both family and culture. As we come to verse 5, we now study the life of a man who held a different set of values than the values held by the culture. How can we live faithfully in the midst of a culture that is determined to live contrary to Scripture? Join us as we look at the counter-culture life of a man named Enoch.

Faith of Abel

In our study of Hebrews we come to a man by the name of Abel. What this man’s life shows us is that those who relate to God on the basis of faith have always suffered at the hands of legalistic and self-righteous people. After all, who turned Jesus over to the Romans to have him put to death? The self-righteous religious leaders of Israel. There has always been a war between those of Faith and those of Religion. Hebrews 11:4 now reveals how those who are of the “Faith” are to live.

What is Faith?

The Hebrew followers of Christ were in a crisis of faith. Some had already abandoned Christianity and gone back to animal sacrifices in the Jewish temple. The writer of Hebrews is encouraging them to keep walking by faith. But what is faith? Join us as we take an in-depth look at the first three verses of Hebrews chapter eleven.
