Marriage Ministry

Merge is an 8-week class for seriously dating and engaged couples to discuss topics such as communication and conflict, finances, sexual intimacy, in-laws, and expectations. Couples are led by a married mentor couple and go through the class with other participating couples in the same stage of life. Merge provides the ideal opportunity for you and your significant other to process next steps in your relationship in the context of a small group community.

Harvest offers classes and group experiences focused on encouraging those couples who are remarried and blessed with a blended family. Our hope is that we can assist you by providing biblical and practical answers to the issues you face as a stepfamily, such as prioritizing your marriage and growing in your faith together, solving the everyday challenges of step-parent and step-children relationships, and communicating effectively and appropriately with your ex-spouse.

Marriage mentors play an important role in helping pre-married or newly married couples navigate their first year together. Trained mentoring couples at Harvest come alongside the newlyweds within their first year of marriage and offer support and prayer when needed. Mentoring is also available for those couples who are not recently married but are facing tough challenges in their relationship.

Pastoral marriage counseling is offered at the church for those who are actively a part of Harvest. Sessions may be scheduled through the church and come with no financial obligation. Counseling is private, biblical, and will require a commitment on part of both husband and wife. The counseling pastor may also recommend additional appointments with a biblical counselor outside of Harvest.

Marriage classes are offered at Harvest and are designed to help couples build strong marriages and families. Classes are typically on Sunday mornings at 9 AM or Wednesday nights from 6:30 – 8:30 PM.

Each year, Harvest hosts an all-church couple’s event which includes a wonderful meal, couples activities, marriage resources, prayer, and an encouraging message for couples. It is our desire that we would come together and allow God to strengthen marriages, relationships, and our walk with Him.

Couples who want to have a Harvest pastor officiate their marriage must first complete (or be in the process of completing) our pre-marital preparation class (Merge) and meet with a Harvest pastor for further counseling and wedding day preparations. As a couple, you will be required to submit a completed Marriage & Purity Agreement as well as the Harvest Wedding & Building Use Form. We also ask that you request a marriage officiant at least four months before your wedding date.
