Harvest Youth
Wednesday Nights at 6:30 PM
Equipping our youth
Our desire is to point every student to Jesus Christ, “the Word which was from the beginning,” so that they may know the Gospel himself, the Grace-man, the Grace of God revealed to the world. We are on mission to be ministers and stewards of the grace and the love God demonstrated to us (Romans 5:8).
“For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men.” – Titus 2:11
HY stands for more than Harvest Youth — we are HIS YOUTH.
Our mission and ministry focus is Word Centric and Christ Focused. Everything we do is centered on the Word of God as we point students to Jesus Christ; He is the famous one in HY! Any time we gather together and fellowship, it will be centered on our four pillars of The Word, Prayer, Worship, and Fellowship with Jesus Christ at the very core. He is our life and the life of HY.
“Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth. For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, is revealed, then you also will be revealed with Him in glory.” – Colossians 3:1-4
01
The Word
His inspired Word is alive, active, and able to teach and equip us how to abide in Jesus Christ as He abides in us.
“This is His commandment, that we believe in the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, just as He commanded us. The one who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. We know by this that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us.” – Hebrews 4:12, 2 Timothy 3:16-17, 1 John 3:23-24
02
Prayer
Prayer is our way as His People — HIS YOUTH — to demonstrate our faith in Him and what He has spoken in His Word. Prayer demonstrates our dependence upon Him and acknowledges our awareness of His perfect presence and trust in His provision for every moment of our lives.
“Rejoice always; pray without ceasing; in everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” – 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
03
Worship
Worship is our response to who the Lord Jesus Christ is and all that He has spoken in His Word and done in our lives. We worship Him because He is worthy!
“Through Him then, let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that give thanks to His name.” – Hebrews 13:15
We worship now as we look forward to worshiping Him for eternity.
“‘Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing.’ And every created thing which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all things in them, I heard saying, ‘To Him who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb, be blessing and honor and glory and dominion forever and ever.’ And the four living creatures kept saying, ‘Amen.’ And the elders fell down and worshiped.” – Revelation 5:12-14
04
Fellowship
Fellowship is God calling a people into a relationship with Him and each other as His body.
“God is faithful, through whom you were called into fellowship with His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.” – 1 Corinthians 1:9
Fellowship is sharing in our love for and life in Jesus Christ. Jesus himself calls us as his people, as His body, as His bride, to demonstrate our love for Him by loving one another.
“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” – John 13:34-35
When we meet and fellowship together, we do so as one body, united by one spirit, as we all await the return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
“Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful; and let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near.” – Hebrews 10:23-24
What to Expect: Wednesday Night
Every Wednesday, HY meets from 6:30-8:30 PM in the basement at Harvest. At the beginning and end of the evening we spend time together catching up, encouraging one another, and just enjoying being a family united by Christ. We worship together, led by our student worship band, and spend time studying God’s Word verse-by-verse. We then break out into our discussion groups where we learn how to apply the Word of God as we seek to live in the Grace of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Wednesday nights are all about the Lord Jesus Christ being made famous as we grow in our love and understanding of His Word!
