Prayer and Fasting

We are fasting and praying in January to earnestly seek the Lord and cultivate a deeper, more intimate relationship with Christ as we prepare for the coming year. During this time, we are asking the Lord for His provision and breakthrough—for personal, family, church, national, and international needs.

Daily Prayer Focus

Jan. 12 – Day 1: Personal Relationship with Christ (Things to Consider)

  • Your words and thoughts (Psalm 19:14)

  • Maintain a clear conscience before God and others (Acts 24:16)

  • Throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, so you can run the race marked out for you (Hebrews 12:1)

Jan. 13 – Day 2: Unsaved Loved Ones & Significant Relationships with Others

  • Unsaved loved ones: Pray that the Lord would knock on their hearts’ doors and that they would invite Him in (Revelation 3:20). Make a list of unsaved loved ones, friends, neighbors, etc., and pray for them daily during your fast.

  • Significant relationships: Pray for known needs (Ephesians 3:14–21). Is there any unresolved resentment, grudge, or offense? Seek counsel if needed (Matthew 18:15–18).

Jan. 14 – Day 3: Harvest Leadership and Ministries

  • Pray for those who lead and serve faithfully (1 Timothy 5:17)

Jan. 15 – Day 4: Harvest Missionaries & the Persecuted Church

  • Harvest missionaries: See the list of Harvest missionaries (Matthew 28:19–20).

  • The persecuted church: Pray for Christians and non-believers facing persecution and martyrdom in places such as Nigeria, Syria, Sudan, Mozambique, and elsewhere. Pray for God’s presence and comfort, spiritual strength and perseverance, physical protection and deliverance, and for godly governments to be established in each nation.

Jan. 16 – Day 5: Those in Positions of Authority

  • Pray for national and local leaders: the President, Vice President, Cabinet, Senate and Congress, federal judges, governors, mayors, state representatives, educators, law enforcement, business leaders, school boards, pastors and elders of local churches, those in media, arts and entertainment, and fathers (1 Timothy 2:1–5).

Jan. 17 – Day 6: Immoral Giants in America

  • Pray against spiritual strongholds such as abortion, sex trafficking, illegal drugs, corruption in government, and sexual immorality (1 Samuel 17:40).

Jan. 18 – Day 7: Spiritual Awakening in America

  • Ask God for a national movement of the Holy Spirit—bringing many non-believers to Christ, with a special focus on children, teenagers, and young adults (Acts 2:47).
