It may sound obvious, but a Home Group meets in a home. It’s personal. It feels close. Home Groups encourage hospitality, authenticity and togetherness – providing something that may have been missed in a large worship experience. The ministry consists of a variety of small groups with an average of 6-12 adults, providing the setting for spiritual growth, connection and genuine care. Some groups meet on the first Wednesdays of every month. Others will meet twice a month, and some are committed to meeting weekly.
What can you expect to find on a Home Group night?
Each Home Group experience will be one that is both relaxed and inviting with a focus on three main priorities: To spend time in the Word, to pray and to build life-long friendships.
• Teaching the Word Home Group leaders lead their study and discussion for the group, involving each person and maintaining a safe and engaging learning environment. These discussions can center around the Harvest weekend sermons or a study through the Scriptures. (1 Thess. 2:13)
• Prayer and Ministry Time is prioritized to pray and worship together as a group. Requests and updates are shared and there is an expectation that the group will be led by the Holy Spirit. This is a great time to begin to minister to one another and carry one another’s burdens. (Ephesians 6:18)
• Fellowship Groups are encouraged to make time while together to share in a meal, snacks or coffee and deserts. Groups are also encouraged to meet informally with one another outside of the regular gatherings in order to meet the various needs expressed within the group. (Hebrews 10:25)
